AWS Free Tier Alert: I received an email with the subject line "AWS Free Tier limit alert". It said my AWS account "has exceeded 85% of the usage limit for one or more AWS Free Tier-eligible services for the month". Is this anything to worry about? What does this mean?
You can feel free to ignore these messages from AWS. What the message is saying is that 85% of your free-tier credit has been used for the month. You get 750 hours of free hosting per month with AWS, and most months have 720-744 hours. So at some point over the course of the month, 85% of your 750 free hours will have been used up, just due to the passage of time. So it’s not a very useful alert, and we’d encourage you to just ignore them or else route them to an inbox folder that you don’t check very often.
